Epilepsy affects millions of people and their loved ones.  Anke Loh, an MFA graduate from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, is no stranger to epilepsy and has bravely processed an otherwise devastating disease into a wearable piece of art. Collaborating with the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration in Germany, Anke has developed “digitally printed scarves with microscopic photos from conductive thread and embroidered electrodes emerging from her epilepsy long term research project.”  Each scarf is powered through coin cell batteries which activate the LEDs.  Anke Loh is quite familiar with the use of smart textiles and technology having previously worked alongside Luminex and Phillips.  A variety of different designs are available upon request.
