Nobody likes someone sneaking up behind them. Kristin Neidlinger, the designer who brought you the Mood Sweater, has created a prototype inspired by porcupines and sea anemones and their response in protecting their boundaries. The Furver FO.Corset acts as a hard shell with an attached neck piece that rises to cover most of the face and head. At the nape of the neck is a long patch of fiber optics that can detect an individual approaching. The smart tendrils will then rise up and illuminate as a warning. This is an example that wearable tech can function as personal protection.
