Ylenia Gortana has created a wearable tech jacket that fuses fashion with sound. Not just any type of sound but original music. 52 separate panels run alongside the front and the sleeves that give it a modern aesthetic and also function as individual soundboards. In fact, each square has a preprogrammed sound that plays when touched. It’s like wearing a midi controller that allows the wearer to experiment and create original music. The preset sound cards are programmed from the back of the jacket that connects to each of the sensor compartments. The prototype is made from both wool and synthetic fabric. This jacket represents wearable technology that can and will revolutionize the way we can meld fashion, function and entertainment.
