I hope you all are drinking plenty of fluids. I practically have a water bottle attached to my lips most of the day. Regardless of the weather, keeping hydrated is a must but not something we always keep up with. A new breakthrough in science may be exactly what we need. Paulien Routs and her collaborators have developed SOAK, a textile coating that reacts to the wearer’s sweat. For example, if applied to athletic apparel, your clothes will start to turn orange or yellow once you are reaching dehydration levels. And once that happens, you and the whole world will know you need some liquids pronto. I look forward to this new smart fabric making its way into my closet some time in the near future.
