André Courrèges was a French fashion designer who made history by introducing futuristic looks to his collections in the 60’s. Although he recently passed away, the house of Courrèges is being revived as part of the wearable tech rage. This week the company showed their F/W 2016 collection where they announced the dawn of “an era when the garment will come alive.” Most specifically as 3 self heating overcoats. These items have a built-in heating system run by a battery lasting up to 6 hours. By a single press of a button on the left sleeve, you can kiss the cold goodbye. Although the Courrèges team did not discuss the future availability of these coats, they do intend to embrace more hi-tech going forward.
